A TED talk that makes the case for DAOstack without realizing it.

tl:dr; blockchains have the potential to reinvent Democracy. This talk tells you how…without even talking about blockchains.

Someone sent me a TED talk by Brett Hennig entitled What if we replaced politicians with random people?

As a marketer, one of the things, I most appreciated what the uniqueness of the title.

The talk does a marvelous job of building the case that a random group of people making decisions could more effectively make decisions and allocate resources than our current representative parliamentary systems do.

The concept he uses is called “Sortition” and as I listened to it, I found myself thinking, “whoa, he’s describing exactly what DAOstack is building.” (Disclosure: advisor)

But they call it “Holographic Consensus.”

Either way, the same idea.

The point is that now there is a blockchain-based way to do what Brett describes. A few years ago, there was no practical way to do it at scale with security. Now there is.

What was once impossible is now possible. This is what is great about blockchain.

Big thanks to Layne Lafrance for pointing this video out to me.
