"Decentralization"
I first learned about decentralization at the end of 2008.
Back then, most people thought (myself included) that it was more of a Utopian Ideal than something that would actually become a reality in my lifetime.
But now?
OMG!
It's simply amazing!
More and more corrupted, exploitative, and elitist legacy institutions, corporate structures and industries are being disrupted every month.
For example, the Cotton Coin Project is currently disrupting the corrupt Global Cotton Industry:

Breaking Down Unfair Barriers
With every new decentralized project , another modern day slavery industry with discriminatory barriers for entry is unveiled to the public and seriously questioned.
And another brick is plucked from the wall...
This trend can only lead to a more egalitarian existence around the globe.

Believing that school was too boring, he dropped out of High School early; only to earn an AA, BS and MBA in less than 4 years much later in life – while working full-time as a Navy/Marine Corps Medic.
In spite of a fear of heights and deep water, he performed high altitude, free-fall parachute jumps and hazardous diving ops in deep, open ocean water.
After 24 years of active duty, he retired in Asia.
Since then, he's been a full-time, single papa and actively pursuing his varied passions (Writing, Disruptive Technology, Computer Science and Cryptocurrency - plus more hobbies too boring or bizarre for most folk).

Yeah when I first heard of the concept I thought it was all smoke and mirrors
But now it is a stable idea with so many variants
Put me in the "cautiously optimistic" category. I can certainly see the benefits of decentralization, but I've learned that very smart people find ways to game just about anything. I believe nothing is un-gameable. And that's rather unfortunate. The question is, will the benefits outstrip the drawbacks? It's still early to tell, but I'm hopeful.
