Elysian Membership Program — Updated Voting Information
As many Elysian community members are probably aware of, the Elysian Membership Program recently released some updates approximately 6 weeks ago regarding benefits, tier levels, and other details. The new program provides improved benefits for community members to incentivize them to become a part of the Elysian ecosystem and hold the token. We feel that the Membership Program is an important part of the project because it prioritizes community engagement and it gives people a chance to feel like they are an active part of the project themselves. Members not only have the chance to receive benefits but they also have the chance to both receive tangible goods through the membership package, and also voting rights in the near future, which is important because these votes will dictate the outcome of campaigns which ultimately can receive funding through the use of ELY tokens from our Growth Pool allocation.
Taking this into account, Elysian has decided to make some slight changes regarding the voting aspect of the Membership Program. Members will be able to vote in the near future for various campaigns and other things within the ecosystem. Each vote will have a certain weight, depending on the tier that each specific member is a part of. This is determined by how much ELY the community member holds. The weighted structure for voting is as follows:
*Gold: vote weighs 1 vote
*Platinum: vote weighs 10 votes
*Diamond: vote weighs 100 votes
This format is structured specifically to incentivize community members to become Diamond members to receive the highest benefits possible. This small elite group of members will have the most pull in terms of which campaigns can be funded and other ideas that may improve the project as well.
The implementation of the voting system into both the forum and the Membership Program will be extremely beneficial for the community. Generally, it is the unfortunate truth that a majority of companies disregard their communities and make most of their decisions without taking the concerns of the community into account. While this can be effective at times, it usually leaves the community unsatisfied. This is especially true in the blockchain industry. Considering that the community is one of the most important parts of a project in this industry, since a lot of the crowd sale funding came from the community in most cases, allowing direct contact with the team and placing a voting system is a great way to help community members and investors give their input on aspects that can potentially improve or expand the project.
Naturally if the ideas are poor, they must be disregarded for the sake of company growth, but there is a significant amount of merit to acknowledging the ideas of the community because it promotes a healthy community, freedom of expression, and healthy growth if the proper strategies are executed.
