Blockchain Elastic

Scary to think that whatever you post to Steemit remains on the Blockchain forever. Is that a good thing for a constantly evolving Internet? Ephemeral does not apply here. Nothing is transient on the Blockchain right? Gives one pause. Take a minute to think about this. I understand about the public ledger characteristic been awesome for financial transactions. Tries to keep everyone honest and it mostly succeeds. But for nuances like personalities and different approaches to reality, art and ordinary existence I am not so sure. Sometimes a wave hits you and you ride it till the thrill subsides. Eventually you just want to get out of the water but if the surf extends beyond you, then what? It becomes a nuisance in your way. An obstacle you can't delete anymore. You press delete but the chain is fixed in time. Whatever is written is set in stone.

And then you have the Ethereum fork that did it anyway. The chain was reset. So is the Blockchain just another technology that tries to solve one set of problems but perpetuates some of the same problems. And creates new ones that are more challenging than the old.
