The next five years blockchain players are believed to continue to emerge

The blockchain technology may have been around for a long time, but it seems that not everyone knows what blockchain is. Blockchain technology is the technology of sending data, values and information instantly without the need for third parties.
The Executive Director of the Indonesian Blockchain Association (ABI) Muhammad Deivito Dunggio or familiarly called Oham explained that the growth of the blockchain industry during 2018 to 2019 reached 30%. An example in blockchain technology is bitcoin. We know that bitcoin is a digital asset that emerged around 2009.
Bitcoin that uses the blockchain database is not controlled by a party, but is very open to the public so it is impossible for someone to fake transactions on the blockchain. All transactions are recorded live, transparent and spread to millions of servers.
Not only for that matter, blockchain technology also called Oham can be used more in Indonesia. Oham gives an example like the Estonian State that has used this technology for population.
"Estonian population has been digitized, their elections also utilize the blockchain," Oham explained during the KVB journalist class at GoWork on Friday (10/5).
Blockchain is also considered to be a new innovation in the upcoming general election. The system is transparent, but it is difficult to hack, but it takes time for infrastructure development.
"The election use case is very able, it will be faster in knowing the results, later it will not even be easily manipulated. Hopefully the next five years can be utilized for elections, but it takes time for infrastructure development," Oham said.
Looking at what is currently Oham calls this technology will continue to grow. He predicts that in the next five years more companies with blockchain technology will emerge. ABI itself is present in order to realize and advance the blockchain positively in Indonesia.
