Pair splitting rules in Blackjack

When dealt 2 cards with same value in online blackjack you have the option to split them apart. When you split them, you must make another bet on the second card that is equal to your first bet. In order to signal to the dealer that you want to split the cards, you need to set the second wager next to the first bet. By splitting cards, you are playing with each card as a separate hand.
