BitShares UI Wallet Update 2018.05.09
The BitShares Network is a Decentralized Exchange with a Stakeholder-Approved Project Funding system.
It runs on a Delegated Proof-of-Stake Consensus, like many other modern block-chain systems currently running.
BitShares is your one in all wallet and exchange, and the BitShares UI is built to enhance the user experience in a stand-alone application and web-interface.
How to use the BitShares Exchange Platform
- Download from GitHub Releases for all platforms.
- Online at BitShares Reference Wallet, no download required.
9th of May Release
The development team releases two new updates every month. As part of the development team of the BitShares UI platform, I'm proud to write about these new changes we have done this milestone.
As usual, there are many features and improvements to the app; this is just a few of all the many changes done. After the milestone of this release, 25 issues has closed, all which can be found on GitHub
Official Changelog and Release Binaries
GDEX Gateway addition
In part of our change to the new Deposit/Withdraw modals we've enabled the GDEX Exchange directly in the dashboard.
This was previously only available in the old section of the application.
GDEX official page is located at https://www.gdex.io/
Market Picker
The exchange page received a new feature, the market picker.
This feature enables switching either asset on the pair for another, enabling an easy way of searching for asset pairs.
Collateral Borrowing
The Collateral Ratio input gained a manual input box to make fine adjustments easier.
Connections and Loading Issues
There is continued work on both node connections and loading issues that some users have. As the network grows and many new nodes have been deployed, as well as an increase of usage, this have had some priority for the team.
Errors and Issues
A few bugs and issues was found and fixed as well, a few of these are:
- Asset Description missing
- Manual node removal issues
- Display rounded market fees
- Zero-balance accounts loading issues
UX work
As part of the new budget we have had a number of new UX work issues, resulting in many new tasks for the next milestone.
A few of these are
- Trading View and Exchange Styling
- Paging Module for wallet
- ANT Styling and Integrations
- Proposed Transactions styling
- Price alerts
Looking Ahead
Looking forward, we can see many new items being worked on by the UI/UX team.
There is many work done, and still much left, on integrating Ant Design which is a great resource for pre-defined UI styling. The largest work is the requirements of updating react, and replacing components requiring older versions of react.
Another field that is worked upon is making login and accounts easier to manage, understand and use. As the network uses both local and cloud account, whichever the user or exchange prefers, it can sometimes become less understandable what each part mean and the users responsibility upon choosing them.
