CEO of the American retailer Overstock.com Patrick Byrne (Patrick Byrne), promoted bitcoin at the American TV show Mornings With Maria, stating that money should be provided, whether it be gold or bitcoins.

As explained in Bern, it is configured in relation to the bitcoin is very optimistic. While some CEOs attributed the rapid growth rates in the midst of the economic bubble, Berne, in contrast, believes that the dollar is very questionable means of storing value.

"Do you think that it is a bubble? And what then, in your opinion, is the official currency, which you carry in your wallet?... It's time to move on to real money – gold or bitcoin".

The arguments of Bern is definitely baseless. The credit crisis of 2008 and the ensuing global financial panic it can be seen as the death knell of capitalism and its inability to create architecture, which was originally created bitcoin, and use it as an experimental new way of functioning money.

Retailers are still reluctant to accept bitcoin

Bern also noted that the percentage of bitcoin-paid purchases on his website Overstock.com currently very small. He explains that people are afraid to spend bitcoin in the future because the price of bitcoin is going to be much higher than it is now.

This statement is reminiscent of the case with the bitcoin pizza when pizza 2 the buyer paid 10,000 bitcoins, the present value of which is no less than 82 million dollars.

Among the other major companies accepting bitcoin as payment, in addition to Overstock include a games platform Steam, Microsoft and popular store Lush.

CFO Lush describes the company as follows:

"Introduction of payment bitcoin is very interesting for Lush. With bitcoin buyers around the world will pay for our products are the same price, free from currency fluctuations and Bank commissions. Cryptocurrency is the future of world trade, and we want to show willingness to move in this new digital age."

However, despite the advantages that offer the transaction of Bitcoin, most Western companies are reluctant to accept bitcoin. Those who still decided on this step, refer either to the technical sector, or to the luxury segment. Comments Bern, who said that today bitcoins on its website are payable only 0.25% of sales, proving that while retailers are enabling the payment of bitcoin warily.
