M-pesa is a mobile based money transfer system that has revolutionized the mobile banking system in Kenya. Merchants and local shops in Kenya now widely accept m-pesa as payments. It's become like a virtual currency that is convenient to transact with.

Ignorance could be a major hindrance to bitcoin acceptance in Africa. Not many people have heard about bitcoins. But once more awareness is created with the help of mainstream media then I think the uptake will be very positive
