Why Ripple XRP Will Receive a Big Boost This Year

Coinbase? SBI VC and Brad Garlinghouse expects many major banks to begin adopting xRapid this year. He also stated that he expects to see many winners in the cryptocurrency space, provided they have a utility-case and that he was "long Bitcoin and long Bitcoin Cash." It's not a situation of one project against another, but "there will continue to be many boats that rise, as the sea rises around the blockchain space overall."

Coinbase has announced that it will be moving to Japan. It would make commercial sense for Coinbase to list XRP as it moves into the Japanese market, to encourage a customer switch to the Coinbase platform, as XRP is the most highly traded coin in Japan.

The timing is interesting, as Coinbase will not list XRP until the issue about whether, or not XRP is a security has been cleared-up, but by that time the court case in the US will have concluded.

This is only speculation, but a listing for XRP on Coinbase would see its value increase dramatically.

A Coinbase listing would be a welcome boost for XRP, which has seen the strongest decline in its trading volume of the top coins, since the turn of the year;

Aside from the speculation about whether or not XRP will obtain a Coinbase listing, it is important to remember just how big a deal the SBI VC platform will be to XRP volumes and liquidity;
