It truly is happening. These three top market cap coins (no Ripple here, sorry), can be seen as payment option in a supermarket desk with sausages. The picture was taken in Canada.
One thing I want to point out - a funny little bit of symbolism. The (obviously new) CryptoCurrency stickers are clean-cut while the old school debit and credit card stickers are slowly fading away. Make way for the new I say!

Where was the picture taken? I'm assuming somewhere in the USA. No big supermarkets near me in the UK are accepting crypto currencies yet but it is only a matter of time. I bought a Ethereum coin (is that the right terminology?) last week for £200. I'm hoping it would have gone up in value considerably by the time I am able to walk into my nearest Tesco and pay with Ether. I bought some BTC too but could only afford 0.1 BTC. I originally bought a single BTC when it was $140 and sold when it got to $1000 because I didn't think it would go much higher. How wrong I was.
I feel sorry for Jimbobbill selling his Bitcoin too soon.

Thanks for the reply. I was a bit gutted as the price of BTC went over £1000 but I bought back in again at £2000 & am now almost £1000 in profit from this. My problems are of the 1st World variety. I made a £500 profit 1st time round a £1000 (so far) this time so I can't really moan. Take it easy.

It's from Canada, I'll update it in the post. Ethereum has been doing nothing but climbing and it is gaining so much traction in the tech and finance world, that I can only imagine it being valid payment in quite a few places in the UK soon. It's going to be a strange but amazing time for sure.
BTC seem to be falling 20-25% and then gaining much more. And then falling 20-25% and so on and so forth. At least to the (admittedly basic) analysis' I've been reading.
