They develop the first Smartphone based on Blockchain technology
Sirin Labs, manufacturer of the Android-powered Smartphone called Solarin, which cost US $ 16,000 at the time, has presented a second line of devices called Finney, named after, in honor of Bitcoin pioneer Hal Finney. These devices are designed under the principle of Blockchain technology, which is why it is special for storing cryptocurrencies and supporting purses, applications and shared resources.
A Smartphone based on Blockchain security
The Finney line, which in principle will be composed of an open source smartphone focused on security, will use the technology of the Solarin device, but redesigned to meet the needs of the Blockchain community. On the occasion of the announcement, Moshe Hogeg, CEO and founder of Sirin Labs, said:
We are paying close attention to the feedback we have received from Solarin, and while Solarin continues to sell, we decided to take the main proposal and adjust it with a new elegant design that is a fraction of the cost, so that it can serve the community of cryptocurrencies and their growing need for improved security.
The Finney devices will have the Sir Shield OS operating system, designed to support applications inherent to the Blockchain technology, including a cryptocurrency purse, three authentication factors, secure exchange access, encrypted communications, P2P exchange ecosystem, and a Application store for decentralized resources in association with Status.im.
The SRN token will be the default cryptocurrency of the Finney blockchain, and its devices can only be purchased with SRN. All Smartphones are part of an independent network powered by Tangle technology from IOTA, and both hardware and software platforms will be published as open source.
Among the features of the security suite and the Finney block chain are:
Sharing of P2P resources.
Cold storage purse.
Intrusion prevention system based on behavior (IPS).
Tamper-proof security verification based on Blockchain technology.
Physical security switch (for protection of the purse).
Secure communications (VoIP, text, email).
Authentication of three factors: Biometric, Block Pattern and Behavior.
Technical specifications of Finney
QHD screen 5.2 inches display.
256 GB of internal memory.
8 GB of RAM.
Wi-Fi 802.11ac.
BT 5.0
16 megapixel main camera.
12 megapixel front camera with front angle.
Unlike its first product, Solarin, Sirin Labs will launch its Finney line at US $ 1,999 for its Smartphone and US $ 799 for the PC application. However, as we have clarified, only those who have SNR tokens will be able to buy the devices. These products will be available next year, as will their sale of chips.
Solarin's success was not as expected, and only 10 months after its launch, the company had to lay off a third of its staff, claiming that it would look for new directions to develop its products. Many suggested that the company's first smartphone was ahead of its time, however, this new Finney is not far behind.

The times are a changing. I love that blockchain technology is being developed in new and exciting ways. The next 5 years will be interesting, seeing the emerging technologies come to market. Great post! Thank you for the quality of your writing and depth of the coverage. I will most certainly follow you.
