Mass adoption will happen when...

(Here's a hint: it's less about the price, more about the use case)

Let me know your thoughts on the thought experiment found at the end of this video down below in the comments, I'd love to know what you think!

With the upcoming EOS dapps more people begin to use crypto for real trading of services, as they will have a strong economical incentive to do so, jet what I discovered after 5 years as a crypto enthusiast, is that the resistance to crypto is very strong, so I dont expect mass adoption anytime soon.

Remember all the fiat monsters are indoctrinated into "its a scam, a pyramid scheme and so on".. truly sad to watch.

So I foresee a more intensive fight between the two "systems": anarcho capitalism and statism.

I think adoption will come with decentralized stablecoins like DAI (pegged to USD) so merchants can't risk to accept something that is volatile.. and also volatility will decrease with higher volumes

·

This is true. It seems pegged coins are always surrounded by doubt either fueled by questionable auditing practices (Tether) or complicated pegging mechanisms (bitUSD) or they just end up failing altogether (NuBits)
I’m interested in seeing new ways these stablecoins plan on achieving that pegged status.

Yeah how is done the pegged part is crucial. To print DAI people have to lock Ether, so it seems fair.
The problem is that you have to pay in Ether the transfer fees. An hard pegged Steem Dollar or DAI on EOS would be very useful to have adoption

@heiditravels and @luigi-tecnologo

You have Steem dollars right here, its working and easy to use... do I miss something?

Also I think we will trade in all kinds of cryptos and "stablecoin" is more like a novelty, not really a solution...

Steem Dollars showed in the past to be not very USD pegged.. BitUSD, DAI are more stable

Yes for the ultrasensitive fiat monster that might be a problem, but for real anarcho capitalists its not a problem, its a solution.

The point is that a well done stablecoin is almost mandatory, because merchants pay with FIAT real goods and they can't afford to speculate on prices of the cryptos.
More and more cryptocurrencies gateways are coming but often the price of the conversion is expensive, while stablecoins allow to use cryptos without the risk of the fluctuation. Here a good example where developers can work for ETH or DAI https://gitcoin.co/explorer?network=mainnet&idx_status=done&order_by=-web3_created

I understand what you write, but I still think SBD is good enough for almost anybody have a shop or whatever :

It would actually have been an upside to use it, if you think about it.

But yes all kinds of innovations can come out, but really I think shifting the mindset away from fiat is more important then any using "stable coins" that actually reinforces the mindset of the evil/corrupt fiat money!

Block chain tech is gettinh adopted but not the crypto. Crypto financial model will change

·

Care to expand on this thought? What do you see is wrong with the economic models of cryptocurrency? They differ very much from coin to coin, but I think they are certainly a huge improvement considering the current system of quantitative easing and hyperinflation we continue to see with fiat.

@heiditravels, In my opinion and i have strong belief that Crypto will be adopted because there is no aspects why it should not be adopted, it's an needed aspect by masses.

And for sure it runs on the Blockchain Technology and which means it's secure too and backed with the strong security.

And in my opinion the greatest aspect of Crypto Sphere is, communities can launch their own token as per their usability and they can create their own Economy.

And peer to peer Transactions without any need of the additional and Middlemenfees and costs.

Wishing you an great day and stay blessed. 🙂

I appreciate your comment, couldn't agree more.

Thank you so much. 🙂

  • Before getting elected, politicians have to show their bitcoin public key
  • less war
  • People can be their own bank
  • i can trade with guy from Africa who sells me acutally sells me goods)

i acutally already used steem blockhain to purchase services from @skyleap

Problem are the old players who will massively oppose it and of course Energy prodction is in the hand of the state/ big coporations.

Great video...as usual.
I do believe crypto will be adopted by the masses. Not just because people want to, but because they need to.

It’s becoming more and more clear that big government politicians don’t have their citizens best interests in mind. Power corrupts even the best intentions. That said, we need accountability in the form of unbiased data that can’t be covered up by the powerful few.
Blockchain offers that accountability and forces power to stay in check. It also removes the middle man, allowing people TRUE financial freedom, privacy and control over their assets. Without these things, humanity is doomed to continue making the same mistakes.
Anyway...that’s my 2 cents. ;-)
