Traveling with Bitcoin Update

Picture from Shift Card Website

So recently we started using the shift card and thought we would update everyone on how it has gone for us.

The greatest part about using it is that the bitcoin has been going up, and since the balance is connected to CoinBase the balance has also risen. Here is a list of tests that we have tried and the results of each one.

1. Withdraw Cash from the Bank ATM - It has worked without any issues but the fees are charged from the bank and from shift. So this should only be used when you really have too.

2. Using as a debit card at restaurants, grocery stores, and other point of service as gone very well and with any issues.

3. Getting cash back when from a grocery store is the cheapest way to get cash, and there was no fee on any side of the transaction. We think you should consider this.

4, Using card as a credit card has also gone well and on a single occasion the transaction did not go through but the bitcoin was returned to the card.

All in all we are very happy with the use of this card and think it should be considered for USA travelers. Soon we will test out the bitpay card and also use these overseas to test as well. We hope to update everyone here on how it goes, and what international fees are charged.

Happy Travels.

Important note on this card would be that we don't have solid residence history with the USA and Bitpay has refused us but Shift has zero issues.

We lave the cash back function. This helps allot in Alaska.

I hope to get my own card soon, and use it frequently with my bitcoin earnings.

LOL that way you don't have to use ours.:-)

I have been using my allot this week and it's working great.

Thanks for your help with that.

I just got my shift card in the mail yesterday. I was going to load it monthly and use it in everyday life. With the value increase in bitcoin it would be like saving money each month.

So far yes that has been our experience. Also with the holdings staying with the coinbase wallet you can also earn when the market goes up. Bitpay will be tested next.

Great! Can't wait to hear about it

Do you have a recommended card for Asia?

The shift card might work. In the card description it says it "Works anywhere debt cards are accepted." I am curious to see how it works in different countries.

huh. I am going to have to look into this. I am not liking the days it takes to get bitcoin from coinbase into my bank account as dollars.

We have had issues with that as well. This solves that issue, and with some more benefits.

Feature 3 looks awesome... can't wait to check it out when it comes here.

Yes give it a try and let us know your experience with it.

The shift card works very well. I haven't had a single problem so far. They charge very small fees, and getting cashback is very simple. This is the card to get.
