Dear friends, bitcoin enthusiasts, cryptocurrency experts, other innocent bystanders and commuters on this rollercoaster which is cryptocurrency world.
Shall we start a new series of articles recording the predictions of various more or less experts predicting what the price of Bitcoin will be at the end of this year?
Sincerely, I don't know from where and from what data or knowledge they pull out these predictions but hey ... they are the experts. Or so are we told.
OK, let's do this exercise. I will occasionally collect the predictions and post them in a table. Like this:

I love this topic of conversation. I believe that both numbers are attainable as long as the FUD does not keep scaring people into panic selling and pulling out. They could potentially be higher IMHO since some of the major projects will actually start having real world applications and services that they are providing versus just being concepts. Along with that we are starting to see some adoption by major banks and investment companies into the crypto space which will infuse a lot more money into the market.
Good point. Real world use cases are not directly applicable to Bitcoin blockchain but just might have an impact on the adoption and price.
Ps: in my eyes Bitcoin blockchain does not have any real value ie. usefulness except for storing / transferring agreed upon value.
I agree, really Bitcoin is just the gold standard of crypto in my opinion. I think it will be in place for a few more years at the very least but another crypto will ultimately replace it. Bitcoin is really just a proof of concept, now other companies will use that proof of concept and build on it addressing the issues that are currently in place. This is true with any business or new invention.
One key thing that I think is currently missing from the crypto space that Bitcoin may be able to fill is a set of standards. Currently the space reminds me of the old days when home computers first came out. Nothing was cross compatible and consumers were forced to buy specific brands based on what computer they bought. Later it was determined that setting standards to build and adhere to was for the benefit of both the consumer and the business. I think crpyto being built to standards would give consumers the ability to choose which crypto they want that could be used on multiple platforms would be a great thing.

Although 2018 will be the year of the altcoins, Bitcoin is still going to be the funnel in and all the other coins value will swing with BTC. I therefore predict a price high at the end of 2018 of $46,000. Long Live the BlockChain Revolution (or the machine economy)
