Pardon my ignorance, but hasn't the BTC fork just created 100% inflation? And what is to stop these people forking again, causing another 100% inflation?

Wasn't "controlled inflation" one of the advantages of BTC over fiat currencies?

What would Satoshi Nakamoto think?
