1/ Today’s Bitcoin Unlimited node crashing bug proves that users cannot trust Bitcoin’s $20B network in the hands of BU developers.

Disclaimer: I am just a bot trying to be helpful.

Did you even see Tone Vays discussing this with Roger Ver?
He wants Bitcoin seen as a privacy tool and that's it. I don't know what you all want, but I signed up because of the promise of fast, cheap, and secure transactions without the intervention of a 3rd party. I need someone to really try and explain to me why segwit is better as opposed to trying to sell to me that the Bitcoin core team is smarter than Bitcoin Unlimited.

You are doing a fine job at criticizing being emotional, while spending the video time in trying to get an emotional reaction from people talking about how Roger is bailing and if we would had listened to him Bitcoin would be screwed today.

I signed up for those reasons, too.

Bitcoin has to scale, and it has to become the instant, cheap, streaming cash that Andreas has talked about.

It's fine for Bitcoin to be a store of value -- that's enough to keep it alive and growing through 2017, but there is no doubt in my mind that it must be made cheap and instant.

This is a time for hot talk and cool action. People need to raise a ruckus about this -- big time -- so we can sort out what the users really want. Then we need the cleanest, most solid code possible (which BU is obviously not at this point).

We have a little while to figure this out before these internal issues become mainstream FUD. Not too much time, but a little bit.

I've always thought that eventually Bitcoin would become a slower network for larger transactions, and only used for savings and big ticket purchases where slow transaction times are less of an issue. There are too many other better coins for daily purchases.

I watched both video debates that Tone posted and I stand by everything I have said about the situation. Roger wants an immediate hard fork and has been complaining about it for a while so had Bitcoin foolishly implemented the clearly untested (see yesterday) Bitcoin Unlimited then Bitcoin would be in horrible shape today after what happened yesterday. 100 all star developers vs 10 or so minor leaguers? One gets what one would expect in such a situation. I don't want that.

So you agree with Tone that whoever doesn't want to hide their spending doesn't need to use bitcoin?

I don't know the developers, that's the thing. I am subscribing to a concept and whoever can get it done. Roger speaks about this concept, Tone couldn't demonstrate more opposition to what I initially signed up for.

I'm not saying segwit is not the best way, don't get me wrong, but if Tone Vays is a good representation of the mentality behind segwit then I want nothing to do with it.

Bitcoin is about far more than hiding your spending. If that is what Tone said he's ignorant about the impact of cryptocoins.

Maybe he's not ignorant and he's just trying to undermine the whole industry, remember there are a lot of interests involved in this conversation.

You can hear it yourself, he didn't say this once but several times. Didn't blink when Roger said banks are financing this, not even to demand evidence of such accusations. But he claims he cares about his reputation? That he could had been rich but instead he decided to cheer for Bitcoin and that's why we should take him seriously? The guy is a joke at best, most likely paid to divide.

I like to think the best of people but this smells bad, how can someone get excited about bitcoin and when they start talking about it end up describing the complete opposite? He doesn't even care that people have to currently wait and compete for their transactions to go through!

I guess I never expected the Bitcoin protocol to work at the speed of a POS system. Tone Vays is definitely a tool, but I think Roger is too. The powers that be like to control both sides of a debate. Roger is definitely exaggerating. I do bitcoin transactions pretty regularly with shapeshift - they put in tiny miner fees and its taken up to 3 blocks to be added. Not good, but not horribly bad either considering the size of the fee.
Hopefully, someone comes up with a good third solution.

Holden cuz it's Golden. Nice vid! Upvoted.

Thanks! Bitcoin 2017- Gold and Hold!

Had to turn my speakers down there at the end! Get after it!

Thanks. Enjoy the exuberance!
