John McAfee takes a stand against centralized exchanges

in #bitcoin6 years ago

Known CryptoMonitor Promoter John McAfee recently launched a public campaign to protect investors in this market. It also intends to involve centralized exchanges in assume responsibilities when it comes to managing funds.

The idea was triggered by public response after McAffee's posting on Twitter of negative comments about the HitBTC platform. He has received several thousand emails from users, in which they complained about the high commissions. They also mentioned incidents of disappearance of funds and other issues they faced, but were ignored by the platform.

Not only McAfee has noticed customer support issues for centralized exchanges. Recently, the Investors Protection Office of the Delaware Justice Department has launched an investigation into similar issues faced by Poloniex exchange users.

McAfee is of the opinion that there are currently very few protection mechanisms for trading platform users. Most centralized exchanges do not make relevant information about owners or procedures available to the public. Also, in many cases, those who open vouchers on different issues can not, however, force answers.

In his opinion on centralized exchanges

The only solution for such situations at present is to file complaints with the owner of the domain used by that platform.

At the same time, McAfee is of the opinion that centralized exchanges are dependent on regulatory authorities. The opinion leader has always been a supporter of decentralization and a keen critic of market involvement. This especially after receiving a warning about the promotion of ICO in June.

In his view, the best solution is the use of decentralized exchanges, although they currently present some difficulties when dealing with fiat-cripto trading and filing and withdrawing funds in currencies.

McAfee also said he is currently working on a cold storage wallet called BitFi, which has no memory or applications, to ensure security. He has recently offered a $ 100,000 reward for the one who will be able to attack the wallet that McAfee calls "unhackable."
