Bitcoin predictions... why?

I saw this post today on Reddit (it’s 2 days old) and wondered why are we so ready to accept predictions from people we never heard off? (except McAfee, but that is kind of a meme now a days).

I want crypto to succeed not only for being an improvement to the status quo on censorship and trust but mostly for the incredible potential it has to make changes in society far more than what we can imagine today.
