✔️The wood sandpiper (Tringa glareola)
Slender and long-legged sandpiper. I met three of these birds on the banks of the river, right where one river flows into another. Two of these birds rested nearby, peeling feathers and basking in the sun. And the one in these photos walked through the mud and shallow water and found aquatic insects. I had to sit in the mud for a long time for the bird to get used to me. And only after some time did she dare to come closer without fearing me.
I see these birds every year, around the beginning of August. I think this is due to their early leisurely departure. During this time, they train their adult nestlings in survival and proper behavior, and at the same time slowly migrate to warm countries for the winter.
