Some more pictures of the little ringed plover (short video)
I know I already showed you some pictures of the Little Ringed Plover last week, but they are so cute and since they are back from their wintering location I hope I will see them more often around here in the next time. I really like the yellow ring that is accentuating their eyes and their whole "face". Their overall appearance is so cute, they can look a little like a fluffy ball, but they can also stretch their head like in this first picture to look a little bigger.
At the beginning the light was a bit harsh, but the sunset got closer and closer and the light got better and better. I noticed that the harsh sunlight is much better when looking through the spotting scope, but when you want to take some pictures it is just ugly. Therefor a cloudy day with sunlight that is diffused by the clouds or some mist is way better. But although the sun was pretty harsh yesterday I am pretty satisfied with the results because the birds came pretty close, and It was a pleasure taking some pictures of them.

We positioned ourselves, so we had the sun behind our back on the left side so least the sunlight was at our favor yesterday. Therefore, I could make more or less sharp image of this little cute waders. Not long and they will be looking for a nesting location and then it is probably way more difficult to take some pictures of them. So I need to use the short time frame now in spring when they show themselves a little more often.

Although this place was a perfect spot for some bird photography, today I want to visit another place near Linz and hope that I am successful. The bad thing about these places is that a lot of people with dogs are walking around there and shy away the birds, so in early summer when a lot of these people are doing their walk with the dog there it is very difficult or even impossible to find some birds at this gravel bar.
