I love Owls - these are so majestetic and beautiful birds

In addition to Birds of Prey, I like Owls and waterbirds the most. Because Owls are usually hunting at night and sleeping or sitting on a tree during the day, it is not easy to find them because they often hide inside the branches, so you cannot find them. I already had several times enough luck to see one of the owls. There is a Place in Wels where they live and also some places in Vienna and "Burgenland" that I know. Patrick a friend of mine showed them to me. But if you don't know their sleeping tree it is pretty difficult to find them during the day. And in the night when they hunt it is usually too dark to take some pictures. They usually like conifers with a lot of green needles, so they can hide more easily.

On the other hand if you manage to find them sitting on a tree during the day, you have plenty of time to take some pictures, because they often keep sitting on the branch and wait for the night before they start flying. Only on very rare occasions when they feel threatened by you then they might fly away.
