IN THE BEGINNING GOD CREATED FIRST...

The first Creation of God, according to pre-Babylonian bible starting with Aleph, is Elohim, the Heavens and the Earth, and according to the current Babylonian version, starting with the second letter Bet, God as Elohim has Created first Heavens then the Earth. Genesis 1:1

Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. Genesis 1:2

So, no reference to light yet, however the waters are assumed to have been always there so is the darkness, Nyx & Erebus, and the Holy Spirit of God, while the Elohim (planets), the heavens and the earth are already mentioned as first act of Creation.

The Tibetan monks think first was the space then water, earth, and fire. I think the light first appearing in the water as a consequence of the powerful sonic boom, which set the order and laws of Creation and whole Creation into motion.

Thus in Genesis 1:3, Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.

So, according to the bible, God is not the light, light is a Creation of God, and not the first at that, albeit beautiful and good. Genesis 1:5, God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

Here we have the Creation of Day and Night as in reference to the presence of light or the absence of it. There is no sun and moon yet. One can presume that the first light that was Created is Polaris, the central North star around which all other stars and planets are rotating. Then from Polaris came forth below Saturn settling in orbit over the primordial earth, thus becoming first Day (deity) and Night, aka Chronos/Kairos and Rhea.
