Quantum Resistant Ledger (QRL) — Unbreakable Encryption | Current Market News

Quantum Resistant Ledger is the first blockchain technology designed to be secure from quantum computers.

QRL recently finished an ICO where 52 million tokens were sold, and 13 million were retained. The ICO price was $0.08 per token, and QRL currently trades at $1.34 per QRL on coinmarketcap. And a Steemit user price forecast puts the real value at $4.56.1

In the realm of new blockchain technologies, I am fascinated by coins which offer anonymity and security. I feel like those currencies and technologies (such as the secure p2p messaging in XDN) will be increasingly in demand as the world moves towards more totalitarian rule, as revolutions rise up, and as the security and intelligence state does everything in its power to spy on you and break into your phone and computer.

The theory goes that a quantum computer, utilizing the Shor algorithm, may be able to recreate a private key from a public key. And the first likely target of this technology when it is developed would be Bitcoin addresses.2 Possibly Chinese bitcoin addresses targeted by the NSA/CIA, but the fact alone that your address is no longer safe could cause a major loss of trust in the Bitcoin blockchain, and really anything that's not similar to QRL.

The technology is mind-blowing and exciting, and you should really check out the white paper here.

It may be quite some time before extreme security becomes popular in the cryptocurrency world. Heck, people still use Bitcoin to buy drugs on the darknet—causing major delays and fees as a result3—instead of using cryptonote coins like Monero, Bytecoin and DigitalNote. As is usually the case, it will only be when world markets crash and governments take control of financial institutions and communications that people will take notice of the alternatives. And as the technological gulf widens between the security state and our privacy, we'll all soon need something like Quantum Resistant Ledger to protect our money from our own government. Someone needs to tell the Chinese about QRL before they horde all the BTC and subsequently lose it to all quantum computer hacking!

Thanks for reading. You can find QRL on Bittrex.

I am still trying to get through their white paper, but the whole concept intrigues me.
