Self-care is the process of ensuring you take constant care of your physical, emotional, and mental health. It entails knowing yourself and making sure that your needs are well taken care of especially when things are tough. The method in which one practices self-care will be different for each individual based on that which makes them happy.

For some people, that may be physically relaxing on the couch, sleeping enough hours, or doing dietary changes and eating healthy food. For some people, it may pertain to doing things that are calming such as meditating, reading, or walking outdoors. As for emotional self-care, this can be simply writing in a diary, calling a friend, or taking a break from some obligations in order to avoid becoming drained.

Everyone should remember that self-care should not be considered as something overly self-centered; it is required for sustaining equilibrium and health. If for instance one manages to commit up to 10 minutes daily on a self-care regimen, there will be abundant changes in their mood and their sense of well-being.
