Morning Wood Stout
It’s stout season and no one makes a better stout that Odd aside Ales. The is a variant of the delicious Morning Wood Stout. This version is aged with Cultivate espresso.
If your a coffee fan this one is for you. The aromas are rich and toasty. It’s like walking into a coffee house; warm and inviting. I can’t believe how coffee forward it is.
The first sip is an experience. Toasty, malty and dark chocolate coffee flavors attack your senses. They quickly fade to more alcoholic and sweet vanilla, and milk chocolate flavors. The complexity increase as the beer warms. I almost get more malt, bread and wood like flavors. I can’t say anything bad about the flavor.
The mouthfeel is lighter than I expected. I like a thick chewy stout. This one is not bad, but it’s be perfect if it was a bit thicker. There was a little more carbonation which is why I think it felt light. This beer in a nitro tap would be insane!
I’m a little sad that they don’t distribute this beer because it would easily become a staple in my house hold. I can’t wait to grab another bottle the next time I stop by the brewery.
Cheers,
