Trying a Local Beer From Normandy - Brin de Folie from De Sutter Brewery
This was the only local beer I could find when I was on vacation in Fécamp. The art on the bottle looks a bit childish and doesn't really work well for a beer, I think.
Still, it was pretty good, but definitely pretty bitter. Given that it was around 30°C that day, I didn't mind something that was that bitter. If you had me doing a blind taste test, I would have sworn that this was a Belgian beer. It kinda reminded me of Duvel, but slightly less good.
Looking at the name of the brewery, 'De Sutter', that seems to be a typically Belgian name even. So I wonder if the brewers might have emigrated to France to start a brewery? Who knows, their website doesn't mention it...
Definitely try this one if you ever go on vacation to Normandy!

Yeah it kind of looks like it is a nice cold bottle of chocolate milk instead of a beer! Nice write up!
The artwork is definitely looks like something you'd see on a kid's milk cart. But to be honest, I like it because it is so different.
