Working on my next single - this beat is INSANE! Working with rhythmic "fives" is leading to creative breakthroughs.
I can't overemphasize how exciting the world of "five" rhythms is right now. Most rhythm falls into groupings of either 2 or 3 (or some multiple - 6, 4, etc). When you use a five note sequence as the rhythmic basis, its like having a different programming language for creating music. New sounds, new ideas.
Where the tonal space of melodies and chords seems to be pretty fully explored, the rhythmic space is like deep sea diving. Nothing is known yet. We have only scraped the surface.
