Whoa, one part that just got me was that book 7 claims that poverty taxes 13-14IQ on each individuals mind.. Is that really true/extensive research done to show that?

Yeah, it's fascinating stuff. Check out the book "Scarcity" if you really want to dive into that aspect.
Here's also an article along these lines that also connects it to basic income.
We're also literally causing brain damage in humans who are born into poverty, where a lack of income reduces white and gray matter formation.
