Memphis Depay vs Robert Lewandovski - Who will win?
It is time for the group stage in the Champions League. The first matches will be played tomorrow, and to be honest, what a day we have to look forward to. The highlight is for sure the match between FC Barcelona and Bayern München, but all the other matches will be interesting as well. For example, will Christiano Ronaldo continue his Saturday performance in the match against Newcastle as Manchester United will play against Young Boys from Switzerland? Can Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, and Ronaldo together be the power needed in order to take Manchester United to the top of Europe in the Champions League?
Even though the match between Young Boys and Manchester United will be interesting, the highlight is still the match between FC Barcelona and Bayern Munchen, in which Memphis Depay and Robert Lewandovski might be the two biggest profiles (after the departure of Lionel Messi from Barcelona).
Memphis Depay hasn't had time to impress a lot in FC Barcelona yet, but after scoring lots of goals for the Netherlands against Montenegro and Turkey, I guess many FC Barcelona fans hope that he will continue doing the same for his club team as well. Robert Lewandovski has scored a lot for Bayern Munchen already this season, and even though he didn't score for Poland against England, he still had a wonderful pass that made sure that the match ended with 1-1 (and not a 1-0 victory for England). He also scored some goals against way weaker opponents, telling all of us that he is just as good as he has always been.
We have a lot to look forward to tomorrow. What do you expect? Will Barcelona have a chance against Bayern Munchen?
To be honest, I do keep Bayern Munchen as favorites ahead of the match. But, I have also noticed that FC Barcelona seems to be in kind of relief after the departure for Lionel Messi, and I actually hope that it will have a good effect on the team, taking them back to the top level in Europe once again. I guess the opening Champions League match against Bayern Munchen will be a good place to prove that they actually play like such a team.
