App to find public welfare

Private Aid Water Aid has launched mobile phone-based apps to find public welfare. The app called 'Public Toilet Bangladesh' was officially launched on Thursday in a city hotel.

Using the app, the public can be found next to the highway across the country including the capital.

Go to Google Play Store and install the app on the mobile phone. Apart from this, users can also add the name of public toilets outside of this app from any part of the country. Apps, parks, playgrounds, stadiums, bus terminals, public baths can be known at the time of closing. Whether to pay fees to use the toilets, these information can be used by the app.

Zafar Ahmed Khan, Senior Secretary, Local Government Division inaugurated the app.

It was informed in the ceremony that the number of public bathrooms made in public and private enterprises including App Dhaka and Dhaka has been included in the program. In order to include the names of the public toilets in the app, the user must login to the app and register the name. Name and mobile phone numbers to be given. But do not register for the use of public utility.

Water Aid has said that 25 public toilets have already been built in the initiative of Water Aid in the capital. Besides, construction of public toilets in Chittagong, Sylhet and Khulna is underway.

Zafar Ahmed Khan said that in addition to the two city corporations, the Dhaka WASA and the electricity department should work to ensure citizen service like public health.

Joint Secretary of Information and Communication Technology Ministry of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Juezna Aziz said that this kind of app was needed to find public welfare. Because, many people have to ask people to find a public toilet around the highway. Still no time to find. This app will reduce people's sufferings.

Country Director of Water Aid in the welcome address at the inauguration Khairul Islam said the information included in the app has been included in the GPS map of Tantulia, Teknaf, Mongla port and Sylhet's Jaflong along with the restaurants beside the highway beside the highway. He hoped that in the next three years, public ward can be found within half a kilometer of any part of the country including Dhaka.
