What's happening?

Mercury in Capricorn has come square to Mars in Aries -- bringing a volatile, impatient energy that is as hard on you as you are on everyone else ... which only adds to the stress.

This combination suggests you feel especially driven to do something with yourself ... possibly in ways that involve your career, your professional direction, your outside commitments or how you are spending your talents and time. Squares are tough -- and uncomfortable -- and this one is especially edgy.

This is what it looks like to an Astrologer.

What else?

You may be snappish and irritable -- because it's hard to think straight. You want to plan your moves carefully ... and be sure when you make a decision you've considered all the angles and can assure yourself this is the right thing to do.

But with an overstimulated mind going 90 mph, just staying on track and taking care of life's daily business may be a challenge.

What does it mean?

It's a situation ripe for arguments, tantrums, accidents -- anything to get some relief. With Mercury in Capricorn and Mars in Aries, you want your ideas to be sensible and productive, your thoughts to be based on careful research, your plans to be conservative, productive and realistic ... but the Action Self ... the Inner Self governed by Mars ... is howling at you to do something, get moving, time is wasting, don't just sit there and stew.

I've talked before about how trying to satisfy both sides of a square can be virtually impossible -- because each side needs something the other can supply, but the other isn't quite ready yet to do that.

In this case, if your plans were perfect, well-ordered and organized ... and you were ready with all your angles considered and options selected, you could move forward on them as fast as your chubby little legs could travel. No problem. But the "thinking side" of the square isn't ready for that yet.

What else?

On the other hand, if you were ready to move, had all your targets lined up, had your gear packed and ready to go, it would help clarify your thinking ... because then you could turn your attention to how to launch the journey, where to go, what do do first, and what to do next ... and how to stay on course, how to get where you're going. But the "action side" of the square isn't ready for that ... yet.

In some ways, squares are a ridiculous real-life version of "Who's on first?" (Anybody remember that?) Every question you ask leads you around in a circle, but asking anyway feels compulsive. About the only way to handle it all is to stay calm, meditate, work with the questions as gently as possible.

How do you handle it?

Get enough rest. Understand you're kind of chasing your own tail for a while. Remember that any action may be useless at best, counter-productive at worst ... so try not to waste any more assets and energy that is absolutely necessary to keep yourself sane until this pair disengage.

Expect another week or so of "living in the mystery" of figuring out how to make your life work -- and making plans (actual plans!!) to get on with it. Along with napping and meditation and tearing your hair out, remind yourself this situation is temporary!! It will straighten out. You will find a solution to these questions.

Any more advice?

In some ways, it's a matter of waiting for Life to rearrange itself and show you the path it's prepared. Remember you're not the center of the Universe. The Divine Source has a lot of stuff to shuffle around and figure out to create the proper conditions for everyone ... you included. As much as possible, settle back and give It ... and you ... and all those around you ... a break.

Mercury's very next contact is the conjunction with Saturn. That alone will help clear the air. Life (and this problem) will look very different in just a few weeks. (As a Double Aries, I counsel patience as a very last resort, believe me. But that's what I'm telling you now. Just chill.)

What next?

Around the first week of February, different, better and somewhat innovative and radical ideas will arrive -- possibly gift-wrapped along with some very interesting options -- and these two Inner Selves will be cooperating with each other instead of sniping and griping and staging sneak attacks that just keep the two of them wound up and ready to explode.

(That's only about 3 - 3 1/2 weeks from now. Can you last that long? Give it your best shot, ok?)

Meanwhile, there will be some relief along a lot sooner than that. B-r-e-a-t-h-e and let Life show you what it's cooking up and what's the best thing to do next.

What to expect?

  • Feeling edgy, nervous, restless, "pushed and prodded" (mostly by you yourself) to get moving, make some changes, get some things done, etc.

  • Feeling rushed, agitated, short-tempered and irritable because while feeling all that ^^^ ... you don't have clear targets, or ones you believe are worthwhile, or ones you can trust will get you where you want to go next. It's like revving a car in idle. You're making noise, using tons of energy, creating a lot of smoke and commotion ... but going nowhere.

  • Realize that if you do do something you may jump the gun, jump to conclusions, make hasty and unwise decisions, do things that create movement, but not results. It may also cost you time, energy and assets you'd have rather spent elsewhere once you can think straight and see clearly what's what.

I'll say it again. B-r-e-a-t-h-e ... and wait. This isn't forever ... and there are lots better things to work with -- coming soon. Take care of yourself and be there when the time finally comes. It's only a matter of weeks.

Thanks for reading. If you learned something or enjoyed the post, I hope you'll come back soon. Meanwhile, let me point you to another post I recently read and enjoyed. Perhaps you'll enjoy reading it, too. Helping other quality content creators is a great way to boost your Karma, and here on Steemit we're pretty much left to fend for ourselves in finding "the good stuff." Steemit, Inc. sure isn't lifting a finger although it would be easy for them, and easier for us all if they did. Maybe the people there haven't heard that thing yet about Karma.

Thank you for stopping by!

If you've always known there was more to Astrology than Sun Sign material and the three line daily horoscope in the newspaper, climb aboard and follow this blog. You'll find a world of wisdom detailing how you were designed to work with life ... and why you are the way you are -- all in quick-to-read, easy-to-digest-and-remember, written-in-plain-English essays that offer plenty of food for thought.

Little by little, I'm doing a set of articles that talks about all the elements in your horoscope and what they have to say about you. If you "know something" about Astrology -- or know something about your chart placements, that will help you get more from this material.

If you don't ... well, this is one place you can learn. We all have to start somewhere ... because we aren't born knowing this stuff. Meanwhile, if you've never seen your horoscope ... and don't have a clue how to work with it, maybe it's time to find out. There are lots of "chart services" on the internet -- some of whom produce decent, readable charts "for free" and some are so awful and confusing that even I can't read them easily -- and I've worked with charts for decades.

One extremely user-friendly chart site is here: AstroLabe. I recommend them if you want a simple, easy-to-read chart. I think they even give a reasonable little interpretive reading of your horoscope as part of the package. You'll need to know your birth information -- day, month, year, time and geographical place. Without all that your chart will have limited accuracy.

Or, if you want to get serious and really talk about this, upvote this post and start a conversation in the comments section sometime in the next six days from the time of publication. We'll go from there depending on what you want to know.

Questions about any of this? -- Upvote this post and talk to me in comments. It's a terrific way to build value for yourself and the community ... and it will give me ideas of what to write about in future posts. Believe me there is lots to say about the way The Sun, The Moon -- and all the other elements in a horoscope, all the other components of Astrology -- work together to interpret you and your story -- and what it all means to the person you've become.

This is who I am.

About the art in our visual essays ...

Although sometimes the background pictures in our visual essays support the topic and text, they don't always. Sometimes the connection is clear. Sometimes it's symbolic and subtle. Sometimes, there's no connection at all.

The scenes depict landscapes and natural features, buildings and wildlife. They were chosen because they show something lovely or interesting ... or simply because the photo appealed to me.

Our spectacular and remarkable planet is changing at astonishing speed. Rarely are these changes for the better. Few people seem to know ... or care ... or have the will and power to do anything about this. It may not be long before the world humans have known and lived in for centuries is forever lost. We certainly won't be able to make repairs as fast as we destroyed it.

So a few years ago I began collecting pictures of the way things were ... and still are for now, a record of the beauty we have while it is still ours to love and honor.

The photos here are part of that collection, with sincere thanks to the artists who saw these moments ... and with their cameras ... preserved them. All of us at Enchanted Spirit are profoundly grateful to them for their generosity and skill ... and for the added grace, depth and dimension their art brings to ours.

Me? Crazy? No, that's normal.

I have been running like a blind dog in a meat house, knowing that stuff is changing and trying to 'force the issue'. There is a reason for that?

First of February? Urrgghh. I'm not very good at waiting after I have identified an issue. Generally speaking, I take the first best chance. And yes, I have been contemplating "what my life will be like without..."

Thanks for a great post that seems to go right to where I live.

First of February? Urrgghh.

well, really it's on the 4th of Feb........... it's my birthday so it has to be a great day LOLL

all joking aside @enchantedspirit hit the nail on the head.......... should have read this before I made my last post :D

I always love reading these posts and always find they have a meaning to me to some degree or another.
going 90 Miles an hour that used to be my speed, perhaps when I was going slow LOl, but I have slowed down a bit over the last few years, but this week for some reason, I have got back into that, but witht he office move on monday I kind of started refrershed and decided not to wait for targets or projects be assigned and just started to run with my own thoughts, and probably have got more down in three days this week than I have been doign in a week or two, so I am feeling rushed but rushed by my own motivation and only feelign agitated if somehting I want to do is delayed waiting for others to respond

reading this helped me to realign my thoughts and processes for the rest of this week and coming weeks so thanks so much

I'm just sitting here BREATHING..............kind of :D
