Not just Assange - Sweden is implicated all over

A bitter sweet moment. Sweden has let Julian Assange off the hook. I wonder why. What I've seen of Swedish foreign policy it's always governed from non governmental powers. I have no doubt that these powers, whoever they may be, decided it's time to drop the case. Mind you, the rape allegations still stand and are not affected by any statute of limitations.

Did you know that a Swedish company, now partnering with Swiss owners, furnished North Korea with nuclear technology that made it possible for them to develop nuclear weapons? ABB is the name of the company. Donald Rumsfeld was on the board at the time.

Sweden is the number one exporter of weapons and military technology if you look at volume per capita. Recently, our prime minister, reluctantly had to join a group of business people promoting high tech military equipment from Saab Group to Saudi Arabia. The prime minister was simply told by Marcus Wallenberg, head of Saab Group, to come along and give his support. He was heavily criticized but when his master called there was no real hesitation.

This list of similar incidents could be made much longer. It saddens me that we don't really earn the good reputation Sweden has abroad. I think the truth is coming to the surface more and more and our reputation is becoming seriously tarnished. This is, all in all, a good thing.
