Acoustics Clouds by Alexander Calder
The Aula Magna of UCV (Universidad Central de Venezuela) own one of the most famous works of the University City of Caracas: the "acoustic clouds" by Alexander Calder. These sculptures, specially designed for this space, serve a double purpose: they are made to serve as a aesthetic element and to regulate the acoustics of the place.

Calder made the sketches of the work from the United States and coordinated, at distance, the installation work with the firm of acoustic engineers Bolt, Beranek and Newman (from Cambridge, Massachusetts) and, of course, Carlos Raúl Villanueva. It was until 1955 when he visited Venezuela for the first time and saw his work completed.
