Entry for Artstorm Contest #16 - Easter bunnies and chicks

The picture shows Mrs. Elizabeth Bertie inside her Blue Bells Flower shop. This is the first time that I will be showing her face. Took me a bit to decide on what kind of look I should go for on this character. I hope it fits the theme of the story. The big rack behind her contains an assortment of vases and some fresh cut flowers. She brought in a bunny and a few chicks for her son, Harris.

Scene 8: Easter Bunnies And Chicks

The lights on Blue Bells Cafe are already off, Debbie is waiting outside for Mrs. Bertie and son, Harris to come out. It was with a heavy heart when Harris slowly closed the cafe door and left. He gave a one last look but the field mouse is nowhere to be seen. Off the car went as a thin layer of snow formed on the road.

That night the snow has fallen once again and the temperature dropped. Harris kept thinking about that poor field mouse who came to visit. The coldness of the night made him all worried.
Harris: He should be cold and hungry by now...what about his family? Maybe he has a young one waiting for him. I wish they have something to eat for dinner.
Mrs. Bertie is aware of this situation and would want to cheer up her son. So, the following morning she went to her Flower shop which is just nearby. She woke up earlier than expected to prepare an Easter present for Harris. She thought a bunny and some chicks would appease her son's sadness. She took one flower basket from the rack of her flower shop, she arranged some painted eggs neatly and decorated it with candies and flowers. To complete the theme of easter, she brought in the bunny and some chicks which she got from a pet shop.
