Drawing an elephant in Monochrome!

Hi Guys! Had to ponder on what to draw today and since I am drawing animals lately I decided to draw an elephant in monochromatic colour and chose blue colour to do so. I had never done a drawing in monochrome before and had few problems on the way but I have learned my lesson. If we don't make mistakes, we will not be learning anything, isn't it? So, here is the drawing and see for yourself:

The drawing is made on a photocopy paper with just a very cheap colour pencil and a white gel pen for highlights.

You may wonder where the heck are the mistakes in the above image but you shall be clear in the drawing progress images below:

Just an outline!

Starting out with trunk!

I was thinking of a photo midway but forgot to do so, an the elephant is missing the tusk and I messed up in the darker areas and the hind legs!

Couldn't do much about the darker areas and hind legs but made a tusk with a white gel pen and the use of it might not let the drawing be categorized in monochromatic! I am not sure about it and if someone could help me out on that subject!
