Inktober 2019 - Day 6 - HUSKY

in art •  3 months ago

Aaaah, falling behind even :screaming emoji:

Oh well, oh well XD

Next week will ALREADY be HALLOWEEN week! :O Are you all celebrating it? Got any costumes ready? Got your house decked out with Halloween decorations? Been watching horror movies? Bought candies and choccies for the trick-and-treaters yet???

I have done.......... none of the above! XD;;;;;;;

Halloween isn't really celebrated in Australia so it's a bit hard to get into the spirit of it, sadly!

But someone who's been partaking in the spirit of Halloween is ............ my grandpa, @shibasaki :> Check out his beautiful new video of a green pumpkin at YouTube! He said that green pumpkins don't get enough love (as much as the orange ones do) so he painted a green pumpkin for the season :D

Just amazing, isnt it ? :D :D :D

I've been helping him as Comment Moderator at his YouTube channel and we're now only 1k away from 500k subscribers so if you haven't followed him over there, is a good time to do so :D :D :D

Inktober 2019

As for #inktober 2019 - we're now 9 days away from wrapping up! I hope everyone who had participated have had a great time :> It is NEVER too late to jump in as you dont have to do ALL the prompts, and if you do decide that you have a little time to participate, there are two huge curation groups who are supporting the event at Steemit at the moment :)

Shout out to OCD and CreativeCoin curation efforts!

Again, if you are an artist, and you're participating, I'd LOVE to see if you can shout out for your Steemit posts from your external / other social media blogs. Drop me the url to your twitter/FB/insta posts with the link back to your Steemit post, and I will send you some STEEMs :D

Here is an example of what I did for
Day 1:
Day 2:
Day 3:
Day 4:

I am trying very hard to promote Steemit and Steemit artists' visibility through the #inktober event, people :) It only happens once a year and the amount of activity and participation for this event on the other social media places are THROUGH THE ROOF so let's ride on that wave and give back what we can to Steemit? You know? Instead of just creating posts to get fed by the system, let us try to lift our fair share of work and give back to the system?

Also, check out the winners from the previous days in these posts:

Okay, enough spoder blarghing. Here's spoder arting~

Day 6 - HUSK(y)

Continuing from my Day 5's picture, with the wickerman, the two kids seemed to have NOT been able to find a playmate to sit in their wickerman so they found some corn cobs instead and the two are now roasting some corns with the husks on :)

I love me some roasted corns, with a pinch of salt * ___ * De-li-cious~

These two kids are really growing on me lol :D

And here is a shot of the piece during its WIP stage:

I did it with black ballpoint pen on standard printing paper :) !

As usual, I did this by freehand but if you are doing #inktober, pencil sketch before inking is A-OKAY! :D

Anyway, if you're doing #inktober, post the link to your steemit url below in the comments and I'll check it out cuz I'm one of the judges in the OCD/CreativeCoin event :D And and and and...

...if you can also cross post it at your external social media, link me to your twitter post/ insta post/ facebook post also !!!

Cuz OCD/CCC might give you a higher upvotes if you do !!!! :D :D :D

Okay, that's it from me for now! See you in the next post, friends o/

Ohhh I’m kinda glad that they couldn’t find another kid to play with, and roasted corn is indeed delicious. A pretty good trade, imo. The wickerman has a cute O expression on its face.

Good job on your inktober art. Just enjoy it and share with us what you can :D.

hahahah yeah, im also glad that the prompt was husk and it ended up saving .... uh a potential friend from their burning fates :3;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

thank you, scrawly <3 !

Halloween isn't celebrated in Ukraine also. Can't tell is it good or bad, we have just many other traditions :) But if you want to, you can always find a place to join a party.
And thank you for reminding!! As I am going to celebrate it this week :) Have to look for a costume until it is too late!

It's so nice that Ukraine have so many various traditions, i think! In Australia, we don't have a lot of cultural traditions so we mostly just celebrate the big dates that are known worldwide, like Easter, and Christmas.

That's great to know that there are parties enough for Halloween celebrations, though! :) I think the adults have Halloween-themed parties here, as well, so they can get to dress up, but there's not very many kids who does trick-or-treat from door to door in Australia

Good luck with finding costume! :D

Is this...Supersayajin Goten? :)

Hahahahahahah, yeah, maybe :D I can't unsee that now XD

hey this drawing brings me old memories of my childhood. when I and a friend almost caused a fire by playing with fire. greetings beautiful inktober @veryspider

LOL I hope you didn't get into too much trouble for that, Jesus :)

Their friends are not dumb XD

Though I'm surprised they don't have an earth/rock-based friend who's like yeh whatevs your ice and fire shenanigans don't bother me much XD

Hope they can get the corn out before it burns to a crisp, and I suppose that's as good a use of a wickerman as any XD

I love corn but I hate dehusking and I hate buying the pre-dehusked corn even more because of the excessive plastic wrap

They're growing on me too XP

Have I asked you before if your characters have storylines that you take further or if they're mostly just one off things before? Sorry if I have, there it is if I haven't XD

Wow, should I add another elemental friend? :thinking emoji: But for now, these two would do :)

Hahah, yeah, I'm sure Gerda would put the fire out when the corns are ready for eating~ Yes, yes I can relate to fyn's reasons about roasty corns (and why I havent had them in a very long, long time)

Some of them have story lines but I'm way too lazy to write them down properly. I find drawing a lot easier than writing. Writing stresses me out so much XD;;;;;;;;;

Only if you feel inspired to xD

LoL! And meanwhile I find writing a lot easier XD (to some value of easier, ask Sprat about how many times I've rewritten the scripts for my project x_x) If you're keeping notes for yourself it doesn't have to be stressful as they can just stay notes, as long as you know what you're doing. And then only if you actually want to remember/play around with/develop these storylines anyway :D

Now Wickerman is REALLY aflame. Love your take on 'Husky.' Such a sacrifice for the love of cooked corn.

Better late than never Spider.

I've really been enjoying looking at all the ways people are using pen and ink. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

Yes, it is a good way to use a wickerman, I'd say XD

Yep yep, some people are amazing with their pens and inks wow~ I am always inspired whenever I browse the tag ! :D

Very much a beast, I think your work proves you are. I think your characters are nice additions to your family too; I wouldn't mind getting to know them more.

thanks :D you are super nice * ___ *

thank you, @longer <3 i love your pieces so much~ aah~

Good job Spider! Just gotta keep up with the Inktober drawings one at a time. X3

And wow, didn’t know your grandpa was a pretty big artist on YouTube. Looks like he has some great works! I wonder if you had convinced him to cross-post onto DTube before? Someone like him would be of great value to the community and get good support.

I didn't realize this event was such a big thing. Sounds awesome. I wish I could actually commit to something 100%, but with everything going on, I never know when it will be a good day or bad day. Excited, proud and a little bit jealous of those who can. Some really brilliant stuff being presented. Loving this corn roaster guy. I think the corn is done and he appears to be on fire! hehe. You have a very creative imagination and mind spider. Always always always entertaining!

Great drawing!
