Trips and tips: Rome: A tribute to Claude Monet
When I was little, my bedroom was full of Monet posters... why? I can’t really specify. I think that looking at a painting of Monet is like reading a poem. A colourful poem.
This is a tribute based on the exhibition of Claude Monet in Rome.
Claude Monet is one of the most acknowledged impressionist painters. He came from a wealthy French family; he lived in France, Algeria, UK, Netherlands and then again in France - in Giverny, where he spent the last years of his life. In Giverny he grew a garden, which became a source of inspiration for his paintings. Fortunately, he lived a long life and died acknowledged.
The exhibition that I visited is located in this building, Complesso del Vottorianno – Ala Brasini. Luckily I went quite early in the morning to avoid unpleasant waiting in long lines for tickets.
I have taken some pictures of the exhibition to increase your appetite! I tried to photograph the title above the arts in order for you to have the title. My effort is non professional, but I hope that I can introduce you to one of the most influential painters of recent centuries.
This is the view right across the Complesso del Vottorianno – Ala Brasini:
Till next time, enjoy!
We've got Monet's pieces on display here in Le Havre, France too.
