A flock of sheep ^_^

in #art4 years ago

At first, thanks to the title of this content I learned something more in the English language (as you know, I'm italian). Now I know there are two different words I can use for a group of sheep:  if it's a small group I can use "flock", if it's a big group I can use "herds". I read it on line, so I hope it's right. ^_^ Jut to know, here in Italy we call "gregge" every group of sheep (in every size the group is).

So, this is the flock of sheep I painted yesterday:

My favorte one is the black sheep, because it reminds me a children song I used to sing to my daughter when she was a little girl to help her to learn English:

Baa, baa, black sheep, have you any wool?
Yes sir, yes sir, three bags full!

One for the master,
And one for the dame,
One for the little boy
Who lives down the lane

I hope you like them!

Good night to everyone and see ya tomorrow (tomorrow I'll go to the Lucca Comics, so I'll share a lot of pics of cosplayers !).

I think this is the only nursery rhyme I know in english ! ^_^ Love your sheeps & leaves drawings ❤️

In Oz the word 'herd' is more for a 'herd of cattle' and just 'flock' is used for sheep.

And 'sheep' is used for just the 'one sheep' but 'sheep' is also used for the plural ~ 'Six sheep' or 'Many sheep.'

Also the 'black sheep' of a family is the way-ward one ~ The one that doesn't like to be told what to do and does things a little differently. Like I seem to be the 'black sheep' of my family. Which made my teen years very difficult for everyone (including myself) but now people are more accepting of 'dyxlectic creatives.'

So I love all your sheep Silvia, but have to admit to being a bit partial to the black one. 😂
