So, there's this loophole in the government that they can use to suspend the charter of rights, called the Notwithstanding clause. Doug Ford has decided to implement it for the first time in Ontario's history. It's been used maybe two times before in Canadian history, but never for the purpose of revenge against the people.

A judge ruled his attempt to reduce the number of Councillors from 47 to 25 unconstitutional, so he's suspending the constitution to take his petty revenge on Toronto for rejecting him years ago, and again this past election. Having fewer councillors means fewer people to represent the several million people who live in and around this city. It's even more worrisome, because we have mayoral elections happening now. Election day is in one month, and Ford is messing with the system against the will and rights of the people.

He wouldn't have the intelligence to do any of the damage he's done without the cabinet of the most slimy, retched prime ministers of my memory. Stephen Harper really did a number on Canada. I'm pretty sure he's the reason we've been seeing a surge in gun violence these past couple years. He relaxed the laws to obtain them during his majority cabinet reign.
