Violin. Geometric interpretation Step by step illustration.

In this opportunity I bring you a different illustration to those that I have been publishing lately. It deals with the graphic interpretation, through the use of geometry, of the musical instrument that we know as Violin.

The violin

The violin (from the Italian violin, diminutive of viola) is an instrument of Italian origin of rubbed strings (also called "bow"), which has four of them. It is the smallest and most acute of the family of classical string instruments, which are composed of the violin, the viola, the cello and the double bass, all derived from medieval violas, especially the fidula. (The contrabass is the bass of that family, and was originally called "bajo de viola" as it appears in other related articles of this encyclopedia).
Review

Concept

The idea was to represent the instrument in question using geometry as a tool to deconstruct its original form, but at the same time allow its readability in a simple way through the shapes and the use of a family of colors whose difference is their tonalities; letting identify and highlight the instrument as the main object of the composition.

Sketch Process

The sketch was made with sketch paper and graphite pencil; in it some initial axes are located to position the figure and on those axes geometric shapes begin to be drawn that together give the shape of the instrument.

Coloring Process

For coloring I chose the technique of watercolor on cardboard, the family of colors corresponds to the originals of the instrument and warm tones for the background.
