My latest Redbubble designs

in #art6 years ago (edited)

I'm stepping up my game!

So I've been working on some designs again this week. I've been doing many patterns lately, but I wanted something more. Looking through an alternative fashion magazine we receive four times a year, I got some ideas! So I hopped onto Deviantart, hunted down some free for commercial use shapes and brushes, and got to work.

I did a steampunk design first. It's okay, but I could do better. So next, I came up with this decorative skull:

Now this one I liked! I think it was my best design so far. It's also available on a cheaper shirt, though sadly I can't stretch the design out further than this on that particular product.

I really like this design on phone cases too:

Now that's not the only new design I'm proud of. I did more! See, I had more inspiration from the magazine and Pinterest images (this is my Pinterest account by the way), so I started working on a design that only fills one side of a shirt. Here's the result:

This one, I mostly like on a floor pillow:

I wasn't sure what I liked better though, a black background or a white one, so here's a few examples of the design on a white background too. I just added it to my Redbubble account twice and switched the backgrounds around.

I think for the white designs, I like the phone case best.

I added a few to my Vida shop aswell, like a slight color variation to the skull design. It takes ages to add a design to multiple products there though. Redbubble makes things a lot easier. Uploading a design gives you a screen where you can work on all products, instead of having to go through a couple of screens per product. FineArtAmerica gives you this one overview screen too, but Redbubble gives you more adjustment options, so so far, I like them best.

The one thing I like about Vida more is their affiliate links. I use them through Pinterest and when I add the link, Pinterest can still find the images of the product I'm trying to add. It doesn't work like that for Redbubble, because their affiliate program goes via a different platform and adding those links to Pinterest doesn't give me images. I guess I could edit my pins after adding them via the normal route, but hey, a girl can be lazy, right?

Anyway, overall I still like Redbubble most, because of the ease of adding and adjusting designs to multiple products. It's just fast, which is awesome after you've spend many hours on your design. You just want to get it out there and feel proud!

Lastly, I told you a little while ago I was trying to get set up with affiliate links for my products, right? Vida approved me and Redbubble did too, so now I can create affiliate links to both sites. I used them in a post before and am using them again now. This time it's the Redbubble affiliate links. You don't earn a lot through a sale of your designs, so using affiliate links is just a way for me to earn a little more for all the work I do.

Joining Redbubble's affiliate program came with a nice little bonus I wasn't expecting. I received an e-mail saying I could earn a coupon to their site if I write a little about them and share some of my affiliate links to the products there. I was going to do this either way ofcourse (it's why I signed up), but this little bonus was a nice surprise. I could use the coupon to order a few of my own products, how awesome would that be?

Anyway, so full disclosure:

I was compensated for this post. This post also contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.

Now, please tell me what you think of my new designs! I would love to hear it, the good and the bad!

Okay this is rather (REALLY) cool! I've always admired people who put out there their designs in pages like redbubble where you don't know if you will actually sell something or not! And hey, you're not too shabby! I personally loved how the skull looked on the phone case, I'd wear that out and brag on my friends,HAHAHAfhjdk

I also honestly think the other design looks better in black but my opinion might be biased because I really love how black complements everything gjkfld

Cool designs, I really really liked them!

Thanks for your kind words @volderhein! I enjoy creating the designs and get very happy when I sell anything. It hardly ever happens though, but I'll just keep putting more out there :D

I guess it happens whenever someone ends up finding your designs on redbubble o: Is there any way to market them or make them easier to find? There must be like a whole lot of designs there o:

There must be like a whole lot of designs there

Yeah there are. Basically you can pay for your own advertisement off the site (like use facebook or something), or you can blog about your own designs, like I do. You'll need a big audience for that though and an audience that can pay for products in the US, so that's not nearly the entire world. I share them on my facebook page too, but most followers are from India and I'm not sure if they would have the same funds. I haven't really tried any paid advertising yet.

But hey, your advertisement HAS worked to some extent if you have sold some designs so you're getting there!. And yeah, I don't think people from India would be willing to pay for stuff like that, ahahaha

True, true! So far my Steemit posts resulted in two sales, so that's kinda cool :-)

First of all, congrt to you for been accepted by Vida and Redbubble, i wish you the best there. I wont talk much but will say am damn in love with the black design both on phone and the tshirt, they are beautiful. How much will be the cost?

Thanks @tfame3865! The prices are displayed on the website I linked to. I see them in euros, but they'll be a little less in dollars, so I guess it'll be around $20 for the phone case and the shirts range between $16-25 ish I think. I'm bound to the prices the site puts on their products and a little percentage over that will go to me, so even though I feel it's a little expensive, there's not much I can do about it there sadly :-(

Wow purple is my fave.
But you are too far from my country...

Good design...

Thanks for your kind words @ammachemist!
