Walks around Saint-Petersburg#2.
One of the monuments of architecture deserving attention in the center of St. Petersburg is the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ on Blood, which was built in memory of the fact that in this place in 1881 the Russian Tsar Alexander II was mortally wounded. The temple was built in 1883 - 1907 on the project of architect Alfred Parland thanks to funds collected throughout Russia. This temple is somewhat reminiscent of St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow.
The temple was in operation until 1930. Then it was closed and the question arose about the complete demolition of this structure. Fortunately, this did not happen, and after 1971 the Temple on the Blood, together with the St. Isaac's Cathedral, was ranked among the monuments of architecture.
To date, the church is functioning and there are church services. A huge number of tourists come to see and visit this temple, to enjoy its beauty and grandeur.

I even visited this temple once. And many museums of St. Petersburg are familiar to me, although I live in the Leningrad region.
