Bridges of St. Petersburg. Red Army bridge.
The Red Army bridge is one of the pedestrian bridges across the Fontanka River. The bridge received its name thanks to the nearby Red Army streets. The bridge was built in 1956 in connection with the engineering necessity of laying along the bottom of the Fontanka heat pipes. The author of the construction project was the engineer-architect Kulikov.
The bridge consists of three metal spans. The length of the bridge is 61.5 meters, the width of the bridge is 4.5 meters.
By its design, the bridge resembles an English bridge, located nearby. All together, the Red Army, English and Egyptian bridges form a harmonious group, attracting people walking along the Fontanka embankments.
Really amazing photoshoot of the bridge.
