My attempt at copying master artist Alphonse Mucha!
Good Saturday to you all!
Today I started a drawing after one of my all time favorite artist Alphonse Mucha.
My drawing so far.Pencil on light blue Canson paper, size A4.
The drawing is for a competition to be part of an auction in New York this fall where the founds raised will go to further the development of The Florence Academy of Art.
The Florence Academy of Art is where I recieved majority of my art education and it is super exciting to see the branch doing so well after it's third opening of the branch in New York.
Here are some photos of the drawing so far;
_...And here is my drawing next to the original.
Gorgeous! I love Mucha's work. You've definitely captured the likeness. And I love how soft your work always is. Great combination! Definitely excited to see the finished result. :)
Thank you so much @offbeatbroad!:D It's proving to be a very tedious process, but it will hopefully be finished soon ;)
Great job; I love Art Nouveau. Wish that whole movement had continued.
Thank you very much @twirble! :) Mee too! Love that movement! :)
Great quality deserves upvoting. Today copying is sometimes regarded as worthless. Many artist want to be original. However this is the old way we learn. Thanks for sharing your good work.
It is a time honored way of learning.
"Good artists copy; great artists steal." - Pablo Picasso ... and a quite a few others said similar things.
