Fractal Images #70: Dark Matter Fractal & Gradient Mandlebrot 4 Renders Total

in #art6 years ago

I Have Rendered All Fractals Today With JWildFire 3.3.1 In 1080p Format Because Steemit Dropped File Uploads To 10mb So No 4K :(

All of the 4 fractals in this post are rendered and created by myself, please feel free to use an image reverse search like TinEye.

Inspiration

I got the inspiration for today's dark matter style fractal from @themarkymark who recommended watching the series "Dark Matter" so the space theme continues.

Let me know what you think the fractal looks like in the comments....

Fractal #1: Dark Matter

Ok, so dark matter is presumed to be the component that holds everything together, well sort of, but it's a little too hard to explain here. If you're interested in dark matter then check it out on Google and do some reading, it's really cool stuff!!!

The shape of anything in space is a sphere, so I have tried to represent spheres as stars, planets etc, with the wavey looking lava stuff representing the dark matter that holds things together. I did want to create this fractal in a much darker colour scheme, but it really didn't work very well and would be barely visible in the thumbnail on Steemit. I am currently playing with some different shading settings and colour gradients to see what can be achieved while still being clearly visible.

Fractal #2: Dark Matter 2x Zoom

Here we have a 2x zoom applied.

Fractal #3: Gradient Mandlebrot

This mandlebrot was generated to look kind of like a snow flake with a suicide squad gradient applied. I thought it looked kind of cool while playing with background effects so thought I'd render a couple.
