Esta es la primera vez que publico un trabajo hecho a Lápiz Carboncillo, y es una de las muy pocas veces que completo un trabajo con este tipo de material, por los momentos me sigue resultando complicado, sin embargo me parece una herramienta fascinante que logra darle a el dibujo un toque de oscuridad que es difícil de lograr con el Lápiz Grafito, y es bastante cómodo por el hecho de que es fácil de difuminar usando un Lápiz de papel, un trozo de madera o algodón. Solo tengo dos Lápices de Carboncillo los cuales llevaban años guardados en mi casa, nunca me había atrevido a usarlos, algunas veces por no querer dañar material y otras por simple desánimo, aunque el día de ayer en mi afán por probar técnicas nuevas me decidí a dibujar algo sencillo a ver en que resultaba, como mi principal opción pretendía dibujar un rostro pero me pareció muy complicado para ser la primera vez, así que decidí retratar esta imagen que encontré navegando en pinterest, para aclarar y evitar malos entendidos: La Autoría de la obra no es mía, solo decidí replicar un dibujo que encontré en Internet.
This is the first time that I publish a work done by Lápiz Carboncillo, and it is one of the very few times I complete a work with this type of material, for the moment it still turns out to be complicated, however it seems to me a fascinating tool that manages to give to the drawing a touch of darkness that is difficult to achieve with the Graphite Pencil, and is quite comfortable due to the fact that it is easy to blur using a paper Pencil, a piece of wood or cotton. I only have two charcoal pencils which had been stored in my house for years, I had never dared to use them, sometimes for not wanting to damage material and others by simple discouragement, although yesterday in my eagerness to try new techniques I decided to draw something simple to see what it was, as my main option was to draw a face but I found it very complicated to be the first time, so I decided to portray this image I found browsing pinterest, to clarify and avoid misunderstandings: The authorship of the work is not mine, I just decided to replicate a drawing I found on the Internet.

Para empezar, la superficie del dibujo es una Cartulina Opalina de 15cm x 21cm, es bastante pequeña lo cual la hace un poco mas complicada de trabajar ya que es difícil apreciar los detalles con claridad, sin embargo, cuando se cuenta con poco material es algo que recomiendo mucho, de una sola cartulina cortada a la mitad se consiguen 2 superficies un poco mas pequeñas pero mas útiles, ya que duplica las oportunidades de crear una buena obra de arte, y el trabajar los mínimos detalles con claridad es un gran desafío.
El boceto inicial lo hice con Lápiz Grafito HB, solo por esta vez ya que si me equivocaba usando el carboncillo, borrar seria casi imposible. Cuándo el boceto estuvo listo procedí a darle forma al dibujo usando el Carboncillo, para esto el proceso es diferente al de otros tipos de lápices, ya que no se dibuja en toda la superficie sino que se marca en las zonas mas oscuras y con un "Difumino" de papel o madera se va llevando la mancha del grafito, dando un aspecto de suavidad y desenfoque.
To begin with, the surface of the drawing is an opaline cardboard of 15cm x 21cm, it is quite small which makes it a bit more complicated to work since it is difficult to appreciate the details clearly, however, when there is little material it is something that I recommend a lot, from a single cardboard cut in half you get 2 surfaces a little smaller but more useful, since it duplicates the opportunities to create a good work of art, and working the smallest details with clarity is a great challenge.
The initial sketch I did with Graphite HB Pencil, just for this time because if I made a mistake using the charcoal, erase would be almost impossible. When the sketch was ready I proceeded to shape the drawing using Charcoal, for this the process is different from other types of pencils, since it is not drawn on the entire surface but is marked in the darkest areas and with a "Fuzzy" of paper or wood is taking the spot of graphite, giving an appearance of softness and defocus.
Para los detalles de las torres, difuminé totalmente el fondo hasta lograr la oscuridad necesaria para darle volumen al dibujo y luego tracé las lineas delgadas por encima, las cuales dan un efecto de enfoque, acompañado de algunas zonas brillantes las cuales logre usando un borrador, si bien el borrador no quita por completo la mancha del carboncillo, si puede aclararla bastante.
For the details of the towers, I completely diffused the background until I achieved the necessary darkness to give volume to the drawing and then I traced the thin lines above, which give a focus effect, accompanied by some bright areas which I achieved using an eraser, although the eraser does not completely remove the charcoal stain, if you can clarify it enough.
Cuando la estructura estuvo lista aun faltaba darle profundidad, marcar fuertemente las sombras y darle un poco mas de brillo a los bordes, esto fue lo que tal vez me llevó mas tiempo, tardé unas 3 horas, cada vez que creía haber terminado le encontraba mas errores, y cuando los corregía encontraba mas, y así hasta que finalmente estuve conforme con la zona de la estructura, ahora solo faltaba oscurecer el cielo, esto lo hice usando el "Difumino" para evitar texturas no deseadas ya que al ser la zona mas lejana del dibujo debía verse totalmente desenfocada.
When the structure was ready it still needed to be given depth, to strongly mark the shadows and to give a little more brightness to the edges, this was what maybe took me more time, it took me about 3 hours, every time I thought I had finished I found more mistakes, and when I corrected them I found more, and until I was finally satisfied with the area of the structure, now I just needed to darken the sky, this I did using the "Difumino" to avoid unwanted textures since being the most far from the drawing should be totally unfocused.
