Other Types of Art I like Doing ..... Also #teamgood Content

Many of you know I am an avid colorist and I also enjoy dabbling in the digital arts. Well, I also enjoy other types of arts and crafts too. One might surmise I enjoy woodworking but no, I only stained this. Believe it or not, you can mess up wood staining if you don't keep your strokes even and you have to make sure the stain is evenly applied across the wood or it will dry splotchy looking. It doesn't take much stain on smaller pieces like this.

Other things to look out for include the wood being sanded well. If not you will have rough areas that may absorb more stain and screw up the lay down causing increased color saturation in one area.

I had not stained in a long time so, I was happy how this turned out. I did it upon request of one of my elderly friends Carol who was unable to stain it herself due to the fumes in the room and that was against the rules at the nursing home where she resides. Carol is a great artist in general. Here's some of her works, some colored, others sketched then painted:

Carol's husband served in WW2 and they are from the State of Minnesota, so this wood carving was special to her & fun for me. I think it works well as #teamgood content as initiated by @battleaxe.
