First. I recommend sketching the sartorius and the TFL (tensor fascia latae). The TFL lines the side of the upper leg. The sartorius is this interesting S curve that starts at the crest of your hip and comes down to the inside of the knee. Once you have the S you can fill in the muscles of the quads.

Quadriceps have 4 "bellies" and like other such muscles only 3 shapes are clearly defined to the artist.

The back of the leg you draw the hamstrings. These four are essentially straight lines for the artist, but there is some subtle "V" shapes of the muscles to integrate. Especially a little fork at the back of the knee.

Over the top of the back is your butt, aka the glutes.

Use the crest of the hip to position the gluteus medius. Use the tailbone to start the big body of the gluteus maximus and taper out to the side of the leg.

Add more or less of a bubble to the butt as needed :)

Cheers!
