BEASTLY TALES

A PRESSING TIME

A female reporter wore over her dress,
A vest that declared she was from the PRESS.
That word PRESS lay over her bust,
An invitation to an expression of lust.
And so, with her microphone, she walked into the frey,
Of a major demonstration, scheduled today,
The police looked towards her with barely concealed disgust,
Why was she inviting such a lude thrust?

The reporter, Betty Best she was called.
Wondered just why these folk were appalled.
Betty Best certainly had the best bust,
But, even her fellow reporters, she did not trust!
“They tend to be obnoxious, even lewd.”
“I cannot believe that they are so rude!”
One day, at work, with the best of intention,
She had an experience she cared not to mention.

“This man assaulted me!” said she in high dudgeon,
“He had the temerity to push my PRESS with no curmudgeon.”
“That is to say, he felt no guilt,”
“Being in close contact with how I am built!”
To the policeman, “you must take remedial action,”
“The next time he touches PRESS, he’ll be in traction!”
